Bandaras for Sadhus

11th Sep, 2016: The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism hosts a Bandara (traditional feast) for the Sadhus gathered at Kumbh mela from all parts of the country.

Shahi Snan – Ritualistic Dip in the River Godavari

13th September, 2015: The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism makes his way to the River Godavari for the Shahi snaan – when thousands gather to take a dip in the river, which has been infused with the energy of the sacred Amrita, or nectar, which fell into the river several millennia ago.

14th September 2015: Prominent leaders attend the Bandara; Sri Sri Sri Shantiveera Mahaswami coronates The SPH as his successor of Kolada Mutt, Adi Peetham.

11 October 2015: The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism given the formal reverence through traditional garlanding as the successor for the kingdom of Mahānirvaṇi Akhāḍā and meeting with various leaders of Mahānirvaṇi Akhāḍā, Sri Ravindra Giri ji Maharaj at Varanasi, Mahanirvani Ghat.

Mahant Sri Ravindrapuriji Maharaj, of Mahānirvaṇi Akhāḍā performed the sacred coronation and crowning ceremony of The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism,  on behalf of and representing all the 14 Akhāḍās’ senior spiritual authorities, the Mahāmanḍaleśvars and Mahants. On behalf of all the 14 Akhāḍās, Sri Narendragiriji Maharaj, the President of Akhil Akhada Parishad (All India Council of Akhadas) also coronated The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism as the Head of Hinduism.

Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad is the apex organisation of the 14 akhadas of Hindu Sants (saints) and Sādhus (ascetics) representing the largest followership in India. These are entitled to the special privilege of the Shahi Snan (Royal Bath in the confluence of sacred rivers) at Kumbh Mela and Ujjain Simhastha mela in a pre-determined sequence. The Adhyakṣa (President) of Akhil Bhartiya Akhada Parishad (All India Akhada council), Hon. Sri 108 Mahant Swami Narendra Giriji, irrefutably recognized the divinity, the royal king lineage and the rare spiritual austerities in The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism.  

In his personal statement, Hon. President, Sri 108 Mahant Swami Narendra Giriji, who leads 14 Apex Bodies of Hinduism (Akhāḍās) with 1.2 M monks, declared, “Today, I consider myself very fortunate as I am connected to Swamiji. In front of you, seeing the austerity, penance and strength of honorable Nithyananda Swamiji, I felt that, in reality, I have come in the presence of a Divya Puruṣa (divine being).”
